For 60 years, it has been our privilege to serve Northeastern Connecticut with comprehensive behavioral health, wellness, and family services programs.

As the local community behavioral health center, we work daily to provide our people and communities with the best care possible. We call on our connections with community partners and we creatively stretch every dollar to meet every need we can.

When you need us we will always be here to support you and other community members.

Over the last several years, United Services has applied for and received new grants that have helped transform our agency and our region’s service system.

Together, these programs:

  • Assist individuals in emerging from mental health and substance use crises to stabilize and engage in outpatient care.
  • Improve health outcomes through access to preventive physical health care and engagement with a primary care provider.
  • Prevent unnecessary emergency room visits and hospitalizations, reducing the burden on our healthcare system overall.
  • Help individuals navigate the health and social service system, including specialty health care, housing, education, and employment.

We are thrilled to be able to bring these resources to our area, as we know they are needed.

While these funds have transformed our programs, we still need your help in meeting of the people we serve.

United Services has seen dramatic increases in demand across our programs, most likely related to the stresses of the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • 11% increase in Domestic Violence Services
  • 23% increase in Parenting Support Services
  • 46% increase in Medication Assisted Treatment
  • 110% increase in Community Response Services
  • 1407 increase in Forensic Services and Jail Diversion

Overall, we saw a 7% increase in all services delivered within the past year

Any gift is meaningful. Can we count on you to transform lives in Northeastern Connecticut?

  • $25 could buy shoes for a child who had to leave a violent home in slippers one night
  • $50 could buy supplies for after school activities for at-risk youth in our community - such as art supplies for our Children's Mental Health or after school programs.
  • $100 could help pay for basic needs (hygiene items such as toothbrush and soap, socks, boots and winter hat) to individuals experiencing or emerging from homelessness.
  • $500 could help a family with emergency rent costs to prevent homelessness.
  • $1,000 could fund staff time for counseling programs within school and community settings, helping to reduce barriers to services especially for children in our area.
